Philosophy
My philosophy of coaching is based on having fun, learning self evaluation, and providing opportunities. This is done through reciprocal positive relationships between coaches and athletes. All players are unique and must have a positive relationship with their coach and an environment that stimulates growth physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.
We work to develop a method of teaching appropriate to the outcome. This guidance is fleshed-out with random challenges, specific tests, play, and science to achieve the desired result. Each athlete is an individual and must be handled differently while we all work towards a common goal; the improvement of the group.
The purpose of high school sports is to develop the whole person. A quality football program must teach strategy, teamwork, problem-solving, health and fitness, while supporting the student’s intellectual and social-emotional development. All of this must be done while providing the opportunity to have fun.
We expose our players to true self-evaluation, which can hopefully provide them with an enjoyment of sports, while building their social and cognitive skills. This environment will help them become more confident in their abilities, participate more often, and continue to find opportunities long after they are done with high school.
